Over the years we have been involved in numerous proposals to agri-environment and
other support schemes, including :-
Biodiversity & Access – A collaborative project by Knockdhu Distillery and Knock
Farm, nr Huntly, to connect circular access routes, plant hedges, create a pond as
well as protect water margins from livestock and agricultural operations.
New Silage Pit & Bothy Accommodation –To build a modern silage pit in place of out-dated
old facility, and make room for a new bothy building to accommodate groups visiting
the farm for educational purposes as well as the farm’s diversification into equestrian
Native Woodland Planting – tree planting scheme at Braeside, nr Turriff to enhance
farmed landscape and encourage woodland wildlife, incorporating a range of native
tree and shrub species and designed open space, with open rides for improved access
Biodiversity Enhancement for Farmland Waders – conservation scheme on Strathspey
farm focusing on grazing management to assist the recovery of farmland bird populations,
particularly lapwing, redshank, snipe and curlew.
